Underwater power generation plant

The power generation plant has a turbine chamber containing a turbine wheel rotating about a vertical axis with the turbine blades (21) pivoted about axes (19) parallel t the rotation axis. The pivot axes lie around a common circle which lies concentric to the turbine bell (9), the inner ends of the turbine blades lying in contact with the latter and held in this position by the flow. A sluice gate, with 2 cooperating sluice panels (23) is contained in the turbine chamber after the water outlet (30) and before the water inlet (3) in the flow direction. The sluice gate is biased into the closed position.
