Single step process for removing liq. ash and alkali cpds. from power station flue gases

Process for the sepn. of liq. ash and alkali cpds. from flue gases generated during the combustion of carbon-contg. fuels, having a temp. of 1 100 - 1 800 deg.C, pressure of 1-100 (1 - 30) bar, and ash content of 0.1 - 60 g/Nm<3>, and contg. alkali cpd. vapours - comprises passing the gas through a granular layer of ring- or spherical-shaped ceramic particles with a diameter of 5 - 100 mm, comprising oxides of aluminium, zirconium, hafnium and/or magnesium and coated with a surface layer comprising an inorganic binder and zeolite.
