Endoscope esp. for urological applications

The endoscope has a hollow shaft (10), a viewing optical system (12) which can be inserted into the shaft with a fibre optical illumination device and a light conducting fibre, which can pref. be inserted with the optical system. The light conducting fibre is connected to a laser source at its proximal end and is curved wrt. the shaft axis at its distal end (18). A stable shaped mounting tube (14) passes through the hollow shaft parallel to the viewing optical system to hold the optical fibre, whose distal end is bent through between 10 and 110 degrees w.r.t. the hollow shaft's axis and is fully mounted within the cross-section of the hollow shaft.
