Bed quilt of semi-divided fill chambers

The quilt has centre chamber (3) clear of the quilt edges has backstitch seams (6) terminating in the quilt corners (7) so as to divided off transverse shoulder and foot chambers (8) increasing in section to the edge (11) whilst retaining longways body chambers (10) which also increase towards the edge (9). Chambers (10) can be separated by continuous or part-way seams (12,13), using a rectangular centre chamber, or possibly two such in which case their width matches that of the longways chambers (10). The seams (4,6) extend diagonally from centre chamber to the quilt corners and can be formed as flanges 3 cm high. The respective flanges dividing off the various quilt chambers are slotted over part of their length for filling purposes. All the chambers are identical in width and the longways chambers (10) are filled with heavier material per unit volume than the centre chamber(s) (3).
