The stand has two support rods (30,32) which are joined together by an articulation (34), and moved between a folded position, in which the rods are superposed, and an open position. The rods are held in a slot (38) through a polygonal plate (36) which is fixed near their articulation. The lower edge of the slot limits the opening of the rods. The rods are rectangular in cross-section and are in a metal which is plastically deformable. The ends of the rods are bent to receive hooks to hold the plate.
