The boiler comprises a thermally insulated water container (1) and a water jet pump (14) in the water line, creating a partial vacuum when the water is drawn off. The water container is surrounded by a vacuum insulation space (3), and the pump's partial vacuum sucks air out of the insulation space. The pump is also connected to a chamber (21) from which water is sucked by the partial vacuum, and into which expanding water enters when the water container is heated. The pump may be fitted in relation to the tap fitting (8) so that water flows through it when water is drawn off, whether hot or cold.
