Catalytic burner for liquid petrol

The burner has a vertical or downward-angled tube (1), a catalyst (2) and a petrol jet (4). The jet is directed onto the wall of the tube. A preheater (5) is fitted. The petrol flows down the wall, and vaporised petrol with air added and heat released, reacts with the catalytic converter. The wall is heated by direct heat radiation from the converter, so that the petrol is vaporised. There may be a second converter (9) of considerably greater cross-section than the first one, in which case no more than 20% of the air passes through a diaphragm (8). The rest is bypassed direct to the second converter.
