The setting element is operated via an electric stepping motor (3) and a spindle drive (6,7) for converting the rotation of the motor into a corresponding linear movement. The end of the threaded spindle (7) projecting from the housing (2) of the stepping motor is provided with an electromagnet (9), cooperating with an armature (13), for retaining a rod (14), which is spring-biased to lock the spindle upon failure of the current.
