Training barrel for muzzle loading pistols and revolvers

The device consists of an insert that fits inside the barrel of a muzzle loading rifle or revolver. The insert is made of tubular steel or similar and is designed for small calibre weapons i.e. approximately 5mm. It can be rifled or smooth-bore. The main elements are the insert itself (a) that has ring grooves (b) to accept multiple washers (fig.2). The washers form a gas seal with the barrel, centralise the insert, keep it fixed in the barrel and also protect the barrel. The final element is an insert (c) that prevents the round falling into the chamber of the weapon. A similar arrangement (fig.3) is appropriate for pistols and revolvers. Muzzle energy is less than 7.5 Joules and the insert is accurate at ranges up to 10m.
