Electrical connection box with releasable catch

The box is moulded in two halves hinged at the rear. A catch is provided on the edge of the box opposite the hinge. The bottom part of the box (3) carries a fixed projection (14) which engages a lip (22) on the bottom edge of the movable part of the catch which is carried by the top half of the box (2). The moving part of the catch is a flat plate (13) with its top and bottom edges supported on arms (16) terminating in a torsion element (20,21). The torsion element is carried on a bracket (19) projecting from the face of the top part of the box. The torsion element is fabricated from polypropylene with addition of 20% talc. The lip of the top part is forked to fit over the top edge of the bottom half.
