<p>An electric luminous display unit (10) for conveying visual information including a housing (12) comprising an opaque substantially planar front face portion (14) of substantially rigid molded plastic, an elongated groove (18, 20) in the front face portion (14) of the housing (12), inert gas-containing glass tubing (22) located in the groove (18, 20) and extending therealong, and electrical circuitry (24, 26, and 28) located behind the front face portion (14) of the housing (12) and electrically connected to ends of the glass tubing (22) for supplying electrical energy to illuminate the unit (10). Display unit (10) provides for enhanced reflection of the illumination provided by the glass tubing (22).</p> |
