Method and device for monitoring weaving defects, in line, by means of the Fourier optical transform

A method is proposed for monitoring weaving defects in a fabric by means of the Fourier optical transform of said fabric, comprising the phases of: a) advancing the fabric (T) which is being monitored in front of a source of coherent light (1), b) from said source of coherent light (1) directing a collimated beam (FC) onto said fabric (T), c) detecting the image of the Fourier optical transform of the fabric, which image is represented by the diffracted image of the grating constituted by said fabric, and d) detecting any defect of the fabric by the Fourier optical transform. The Fourier transform is constituted, in the absence of defects, by a two-dimensional geometric distribution of peaks of luminous energy separated from one another by dark zones, and the defects of the fabric (T) are detected by means of the energy dispersed between said peaks.
