<p>A hard disk drive transducer-slider assembly forms a controlled contact bearing with a rotating magnetic data storage disk surface. The assembly comprises a flying plane on one surface thereof opposed to the magnetic data storage disk surface, and has a leading edge and a trailing edge, and a pair of longitudinal, parallel rails and a loading point configured to provide controlled non-zero roll and pitch angles so that the trailing edge of one of the pair of rails including a magnetic data transducer element has a lowest mechanical spacing relative to the disk and flies at a lowest altitude in contact with asperity peaks of the magnetic data storage disk surface. <IMAGE></p> |
