<p>PURPOSE: To provide a direct current electric furnace enabling the increased number of casting operations and improved with the structure of furnace floor electrodes. CONSTITUTION: A direct current electric furnace comprising a container 1 having a round bottom part, a side wall 11, a detachable roof 12, a consumable electrode 14 inserted into the inside of container 1 piercing through the roof 12 and three furnace bed electrodes crossing the bottom part of the container 1. The furnace bottom is covered with refractory material and the thickness of it is decided to endure the predetermined casting operations. The outer wall of the furnace bottom part is provided with protrusions 4 forming bosses holding the lower side parts of the furnace floor electrodes 3 and the furnace floor electrodes 3 are fixed by the plates 42. A circular space between the furnace floor electrodes 3 and the protruding parts 4, and a space on the inner surface 27 of the furnace floor 2 are filled with the refractory material.</p> |
