PURPOSE:To position an electrode substrate at the center in thickness of an electrode plate by suppressing the warp of a the electrode substrate, in an electrode for an alkaline battery where an active material is retained in the electrode substrate having many holes opened by die cutting. CONSTITUTION:An electrode substrate 6 is prepared, in which adjacent holes 5 and 5' are die-cut from opposite sides to each other. The burrs around the hole 5 by die cutting and the burrs around the hole 5' are seen on the opposite sides to each other. Slurry of cadmium oxide powder using carboxymethyl cellulose as a caking agent is applied on this electrode substrate 6, and then it is formed to make a paste cathode plate 7. |
