PURPOSE:To provide an image forming device which prevents changes in image forming positions on recording sheet, can perform image formation on the entire surface of recording sheet, and also can reduce labor and time in the adjustment of a recording sheet carry mechanism. CONSTITUTION:The color image forming device is equipped with image-forming means 10Y, 10M, 10C, and 10K, a detection means 50 for reading detection patterns which these image-forming means have marked on a sheet carry means 20, and for detecting the image-forming positions for the image forming means 10Y, 10M, 10C, and 10K, and a resist displacement correction means for correcting mutual resist displacement between the image forming means 10Y, 10M, 10C, and 10K. In the color image forming device, the position of the recording sheet in a main scanning direction perdendicular to the direction of the carry of the recording sheet is detected by the detection means 50, and also the positions where the image forming means 10Y, 10M, 10C, and 10K start image-writing are corrected at the time of image formation by providing an image writing start position correction means which obtains information on image writing start positions based on a sheet position address and an image position address and stores them. |
