<p>PURPOSE: To reduce leakage loss of a lubricating material by forming a half brass bearing metal to receive a small load out of the two half bras bearing metal to be inserted into a bearing main body along a circumference of large average thickness to produce an average bearing clearance smaller than the half brass bearing metal to receive a main load. CONSTITUTION: Average thickness of a half brass bearing metal 3 to receive a small load is made larger than average thickness of a half brass bearing metal 2 to receive a main load in the case of pivotally supporting a journal 4 to receive the main load P free to rotate by a hydrodynamic sliding bearing constituted of the half brass bearing metals 2, 3 inserted into a split bearing main body 1. Consequently, a bearing clearance 6 in a range of the half brass 3 is reduced without changing a bearing condition in a range of the half brass 2. Consequently, leakage loss of a lubricant flowing out through the range of the half brass 3 is restrained by throttling work generated as a flowing cross-section of the bearing clearance 6 becomes small. This difference of thickness is made to be 0.2-0.6 times concerning the half brass 2.</p> |
