PURPOSE:To provide a color liquid crystal display device of an RGB field sequential display type capable of displaying a color image with a high frame frequency. CONSTITUTION:A liquid crystal display element 11 is made a type in which a display screen is bisected to upper/lower. Respective fields of a color filter 13 are made coincide with sizes of an upper display screen and a lower display screen. A video signal is separated to the video signal for R, the video signal for G and the video signal for B, and they are supplied to the liquid crystal display element 11, and the liquid crystal display element 11 is driven so that at least two color images among an achromatic color gradation image for R, the achromatic color gradation image for G and the achromatic color gradation image for B are displayed simultaneously. The color filter 13 is rotated and driven so that the field for R, the field for G and the field for B are placed on the achromatic color gradation image for R, the achromatic color gradation image for G and the achromatic color gradation image for B displayed on the liquid crystal display element 11 respectively. |
