<p>A mobile bale wrapper apparatus (10) which is operative (a) to pick up the bale, (b) to wrap the bale with stretchable plastics film wrapping and (c) to discharge the wrapped bale from the apparatus, and which comprises: a frame (13); a bale-handling device (16) comprising a pair of elongate lifting devices laterally spaced apart from each other with respect to the path of travel and engageable with opposed sides (27) of the bale to lift the bale to the bale-wrapping position, and thereafter to apply a tumbling type of rotation to the bale about a substantially horizontal axis extending generally parallel to the path of travel; means (20) for holding a supply reel of stretchable plastics film for wrapping the bale; means (21) for causing relative angular movement between the supply reel and the bale about at least one substantially vertical axis (22), and means (19) operative to discharge the wrapped bale from the apparatus.</p> |
