This invention relates to a method for inhibiting intraoperative miosis or producing intraoperative mydriasis wherein a calcium channel blocker is introduced into an intraocular chamber of a subject undergoing intraocular surgery. Kits are provided for supplying the surgeon with an ophthalmologically-acceptable solution containing an effective amount of the calcium channel blocker.
