The wiper covers rear door windows (3,4) which meet on a centre line with no surround between them, and consists of a single blade (8) which covers both windows and is mounted on an arm located entirely on one of the two doors (1,2) when at rest. The wiper arm drive spindle (10) passes through one of the two doors or one of the windows, and the blade is positioned so that it crosses the line between the two windows at an angle when the wiper is in operation. The wiper circuit incorporates contacts which prevent it from operating when either of the vehicle doors is open, situated e.g. in the upper cross-member of the door surround. The wiper arm drive motor is mounted on the door which opens first. |
