The furnace housing contains a combustion gas inlet, an exhaust gas outlet, a cold air inlet and a hot air outlet. It (2) comprises fixed top and bottom portions (9,8), between which a middle one turns (10). The latter has a perforated bottom, and is divided by radial vertical walls (12) into sector-shaped chambers (13) filled with heat-accumulator bodies (7). The top and bottom portions are each divided by a beam (14) into gas and air chambers (15,16). In each angular position, the middle portion has two or more vertical walls bearing against the beams so as to form joints sealing the air and gas chambers off from each other hermetically.
