A process is disclosed for producing multidirectional orientation layers. A photo-curable precursor of the orientation layer that contains one or several substantially linear photopolymers and/or photo-oligomers is applied on a substrate then exposed to linearly polarised light under 2 or more different azimuth angles O. Also disclosed are multidirectional orientation layers produced by this process.
