摘要 The invention can be applied in the production and modernisation of transport heat engines and stationary thermal installations. The proposed method in essence involves heating a liquid working medium, conversion of that medium to the vapour phase, expansion of the vapour to obtain energy, regenerative removal of heat from the medium which has been spent by expansion and condensation of the medium. The working medium is heated to a temperature not exceeding its critical temperature and at a dryness of close to zero, vapour being formed by expansion without any heat being supplied. In addition, the working medium is further heated using ambient heat and the regenerative removal of heat is terminated when the dryness of the working medium is close to zero. The working medium may also be heated using only ambient heat under the same conditions of regenerative heat removal. The proposed engine for implementing this method comprises a high-pressure pump (compressor) and a cylindrical housing which accommodates a piston, the housing itself being enclosed in a cooling jacket for a coolant liquid which circulates in the jacket's interior space; this arrangement ensures that the working medium in the housing and the coolant (supply) liquid in the jacket flow in opposing directions, while the inlet aperture of the jacket is connected by a pipe to the pump (compressor) outlet aperture.
