The radial actuator used in a safety switching device has a mechanism that can be adjusted. The actuator frame element (1) has a head section (2) with a ball end (3) that locates in a slide element (4) that has a specific profile. The slide element moves within a locking wheel (6). The wheel is retained between a pair retaining elements (14) that allow it to be turned through 90 degrees. The movement causes the slide element to move and so displaces the actuator lever.
