PURPOSE:To prevent an erroneous display due to noises or the like and extend a transmission line by inserting a plurality of synchronous characters in one frame of a display data sent from a main body of a measuring instrument, while detecting whether or not the synchronous characters of one code agree and the presence/absence of a specific segment of a synchronous signal and thereafter starting the display on the display side. CONSTITUTION:In the main body So of a measuring instrument, a data- transmitting part (a) for sending display data to a transmission line L in the form of a serial signal and a character-adding part (b) for adding at least two consecutive synchronous characters when data of one frame are transmitted to a display device Si are provided. Moreover, a generating part (c) is provided at the main body So which sets a specific segment Q where a signal level does not change for a time of 2 clocks or longer after the consecutive synchronous characters are finished. The display device Si takes the input signal, combines collected one-bit data with 7-bit data taken previously, compares on (d) whether the data agree with a code of the synchronous characters, detects the specific segment Q, and then collects data at (f) and displays the data. |
