PURPOSE: To speed up updating of a coefficient by providing the digital radio receiver with an finit impulse response(FIR) filter for supplying a suppression output signal and correcting the tap weight of the FIR filter. CONSTITUTION: An adaptive channel equalizing filter 16 has controllable tap weight and includes an N-tap FIR filter capable of responding to a digital input signal and an N-tap FIR filter to be used for calculation. An output signal is supplied to a symbol reproducing circuit 17 to reproduce digital information for receiving an error in a digital signal for modulating received carrier. The coincidence of the data format of the digital information outputted from the circuit 17 with the data format of the digital signal for modulating the received carrier is optional. Thus the speed of the adaptive channel equalizing filter for the digital radio receiver can be increased.
