PURPOSE:To achieve the accurate superimposition of color images in color image formation by minimizing irregularities in the rotations of photosensitive drums without using a brake mechanism or the like. CONSTITUTION:Printing stations 371-374 for yellow, magenta, cyan, and black are arranged in order on a paper carry belt 33. Each printing station has the same structure and is equipped with the photosensitive drum 40, around which an electrifying charger 41 for uniformly electrifying a photosensitive surface, an exposure device 42, a developing device 43, a transfer roller 44 and a cleaning blade 45 are arranged. A driven gear 49 with a diameter greater than that of the photosensitive drum is fixed on the rotary shaft of the photosensitive drum of each station. The driven gears are engaged with corresponding worm gears, 501-504, which are rotated and driven by a motor 51. |
