PURPOSE:To provide a ceramic heating element which is a self-heating type capable of generating heat at low voltages and has a wide and uniform heating area by using a dispersion-containing ceramic consisting of the main crystal phase of an LaCrO3 solid solution containing specific elements, and a second phase containing oxides of specific elements. CONSTITUTION:A dispersion-containing ceramics consisting of an LaCrO3 solid solution containing at least one or more kinds of elements selected from Ca, Sr, Ba and Mg, and a second phase containing Y and oxides of one or more kinds of elements selected from rare earth elements, is used in the ceramic heating element of a resistor 1. The ceramic heating element can then be baked readily at 1650 deg.C or lower and be made to generate heat at temperatures as low as 400 to 1200 deg.C, has a wide and uniform heating area because of self- heating, and can be configured as desired. Similar results are available if Si and one or more kinds of oxides of any of the Va group of elements in the periodic table are used as the second phase. |
