PURPOSE:To realize easy starting by disposing a close conductor disposed near one electrode outside a light emitting tube so as to aid at the time of starting, electrically connecting the close conductor to current supplying members connected to another electrode, and keeping the close conductor at the same potential as that of the other electrode. CONSTITUTION:In a compact fluorescent lamp 1 of the double tube structure, a close conductor 5 is disposed in the middle of a light emitting tube 10 and is electrically connected to an outside lead 16 or a base pin 22 via a conducting wire 6 so as to be kept at the same potential as either one of the current supplying members. Accordingly, the conductor 5 has a large potential difference with respect to one electrode 13b facing another electrode 13a conducted to the outside lead wire 16 connected to the conducting wire 6 at the time of starting, thus easily inducing glow discharge between the opposite electrode 13b and the conductor 5. Consequently, arc discharge is likely to be generated between the electrodes 13a, 13b by using the conductor 5 as a relay point of electric discharge. As a result, it is possible to facilitate starting, reduce a starting voltage, and realize secure staring. |
