PURPOSE:To raise the efficiency of auxiliary braking and regenerative braking by relating the control of the inverter circuit between the AC circuit of a squirrel cage induction electric machine linked directly to the rotation shaft of the internal combustion engine of a car and the DC circuit of a battery, with that of the automatic gear of a power transmitting circuit. CONSTITUTION:In the case of generating a braking force in a rotation system, an inverter control circuit 5 applies, to the stator of an AC squirrel cage induction electric machine 2, a rotating magnetic field having a speed smaller than the rotation speed of the rotor of the induction machine 2 detected by a rotation sensor 6. The induction machine 2 becomes a generator, and generated electric energy is converted into DC by an inverter 4 and charges a secondary battery circuit 3. When a braking torque is too large for the secondary battery 3 to absorb, a semiconductor switch 12 connects a resistor 11 to the terminal of the secondary battery 3. At the time of applying a driving force to the rotation system, the inverter control circuit 5 makes the speed of the rotating magnetic field of the squirrel cage induction machine 2 higher than the rotational speed of its rotor, and it operates as a motor. As a result of this, it becomes possible to raise the efficiency of auxiliary braking and regenerative braking. |
