PURPOSE: To attain miniaturization and to improve portability by providing a holding means which can be rotated between a using position and a housing position, closes an opening at the housing position and holds a base at the using position. CONSTITUTION: By using a rotary mirror rotatable downward while setting doors 22 and 24 at opening positions, a base 12 can get thinner in carrying state than using time. The doors 22 and 24 are locked at the opening positions and have legs for holding the base 12 higher than a face required for forming a gap for the mirror 26. The base 12 is carried up from the carrying state for use and two latches positioned on the respective side faces of the base 12 are carried up so that the doors 22 and 24 can be opened and a torsion spring can turn these doors to the opening positions with the help of gravity. When the state of carrying a projector 10 is required, a user pushes the mirror 26 into the base 12. Thus, the using state and the carrying state can be easily switched.
