PURPOSE:To obtain a novel phase changing type optical disk which makes the thermal energy necessary at the time of melting recording parts and erasing parts, i.e., laser power at the time of recording equal and suppresses the recording mark strain at the time of overwriting to the lowest possible level. CONSTITUTION:A ground surface protective layer 2, a recording layer 3, an upper transparent protective layer 4, an interference layer 6 and a reflection layer 5 are successively formed on a substrate 1 of the phase transition type optical disk which uses a reversible phase transition between crystalline and amorphous states and records, reproduces and erases information by the phase state change of the information recording film by irradiation with a laser beam. A transparent dielectric material is used for the interference layer 6 and its optical constant is preferably different from the upper transparent protective layer 4. |
