PURPOSE:To prevent the content of a background video from being abruptly switched during a time when one text telop is displayed and to prevent a text from becoming difficult to read by changing over the background video in an optimum timing corresponding to the chageover and displaying timing of the text telop of a playing music in the case of, for example, applying this device to a KARAOKE system. CONSTITUTION:A display switching flag D1, text telop data D2 and playing MIDI data D3 are included in music playing information MD read out from a music playing information storage device 12 and when a CPU 11 recognizes the display switching flag D1, the CPU 11 rewrites the text telop data D2 of a video memory 13 and simultaneously changes over an edited video to be displayed in the same changeover timing by sending a switching instruction signal to a selector 29. Consequently, the content of the background video is prevented from being abruptly switched during the time when a certain text telop is displayed and the text is prevented from becoming difficult to be read for a person singing a song. |
