PURPOSE:To lessen the load of a driving circuit while keeping brightness well. CONSTITUTION:A display apparatus is provide with cathodes K, first and second selective electrodes SE1, SE2, display electrodes DE to carry out display discharge in a space between a cathode K and an electrode DE, and a container in which these electrodes are put and a discharge gas is sealed airtightly and the routes for every selective discharge and display discharge have parts in common and the length of the respective parts in common differs. To carry out two-dimension display, one pair of a first and a second selective electrodes and a display electrode are made to respond to one display element, respective display elements are arranged in lines and rows in X- and Y-directions, respective display elements are set in respective spaces partitioned mutually in X- and Y-directions, and regarding respective first and second selective electrodes, ones in every line are connected one another to form a line in X-direction and others in every row are connected one another to form a line in Y-direction and thus electrode groups are arranged in a matrix. |
