PURPOSE: To provide a method and device for processing a parallel data base for showing the optimal performance by using the gain of the peculiar parallelism of a multiprocessor computer system. CONSTITUTION: A client application 26 mutually acts with a navigation server 22 which executes this system, and also with more than one data servers 24. The navigation server 22 receives a request from the client application 26 for edition and conversion into plural parallel SQL statements. The data server 24 executes different processors in this system, executes each SQL statement, performs access to those data base partitions simultaneously or in parallel, and reduces the access time of all the requests applied from the client application 26. Even when data bases are divided into multiple data servers, the computer system acts as if the data bases are under control of a single data server and they are provided to a user. |
