The invention pertains to a device for decryption of digital information and the process for decrypting this information, wherein the decryption device allows authorized persons access and denies access to unauthorized persons. The aim of the invention is to devise a process with which information can be distributed to more than one receiver in a user-friendly way, with a low technical-admininstrative complexity for the information encryption. This process would also involve a special processor that performs the decryption reliably and economically and that guarantees key analysis and protection of the decryption algorithm. With reference to the figure, the aim is achieved by the decryption device which consists of an integrated circuit (1) with a central processor (CPU-2), as working memory an internal nonvolatile random access memory (RAM-3) that cannot be read out, an internal nonvolatile random access memory (ROM-4) that cannot be read out and interface (5), with an external nonvolatile random access memory (ROM-6) effectively working with the integrated circuit (1) so that a data path (a) links the latter with the central processor (CPU-2), the interface (5) being situated between the central processor (CPU-2) and the personal computer (7), which are linked with data path (b), each decryption device differing from the others by the contents of the external memory (ROM-6) and/or that of the internal memory (ROM-4) and being partly integrated in an integrated circuit.
