<p>The ship comprises a main section (1) and several cargo sections (2) separate from the main section and equipped with a power generator, propellers (12), hawser devices to facilitate mooring alongside ice blocks (7, 8), devices for processing the ice blocks and for loading ice into holds (9) and unloading ice and melt water at the destination. The vessel has a servicing facility for a search and reconnaissance helicopter and an underwater device. The hull of the cargo sections can be thermally insulated. In one variant, it is possible to house the equipment indicated above in one hull. The proposed ship will be able to supply consumers with ice from arctic and antarctic icebergs as a source of environmentally pure fresh water.</p> |
