The invention relates to a spaced fabric, preferably based on synthetic fibres of polyamide, polyethylene or polyester, with a first layer (1) and a second layer (2) and joining threads (3) holding them together, in which the joining threads (3) are secured to the first layer (1) and/or the second layer (2) by unstitchable additional weft threads (4) to reduce their free length initially. To obviate the need to unstitch the additional weft threads, the invention proposes that the additional weft threads (4) have a substantially lower tear resistance than the basic fabric. |
