2.1 In tube/tube plate joints, in particular made from aluminium, problems arise with reference to the required tightness. As a rule, the tubes are soldered in passages in the plate and subsequently sealed with silicon. 2.2 It is proposed that the tube ends pushed into the tube plate be welded to the tube plate by means of a laser welded seam which extends over their entire circumference and whose inner contour merges in a flush fashion into the inner tube wall and into the side of the tube plate pointing into the interior of the collecting chamber. It is possible thereby to achieve the necessary mechanical retention and the required tightness. 2.3 Use for the radiators of motor vehicle engines.
