A gear finishing apparatus constructed so that a grind-stone rotating gear held by a grinding stone retainer can support on the inner side thereof a plurality of finishing grinding stones fixedly in a parallel-arranged state, a grinding stone retaining member enabling an operating member for retaining and rotating the finishing grinding stones to be moved slidingly in parallel with the axes of the finishing grinding stones and fixed in a position during the sliding thereof. If the finishing grinding stones are set in the grinding stone rotating gear and position-adjusted first, a new already-position-adjusted finishing grinding stone can be transferred to a processing position by slidingly moving and fixing the operating member of the grinding stone retainer when one finishing gear is worn out, and thus, a finishing process can be continued speedily. If different types of finishing gears are mounted on the apparatus, a setup time for different types of gears to be processed can be reduced.
