A floor drain consists of a drain channel (10) that it is open upwardly and downwardly and in which is placed a water trap comprising a bowl-shaped part (18). From above, a partition (20) extends downwardly into the drain channel (10) at a distance from a side-wall part of the latter, and is terminated at a distance from the bottom (22) of the bowl-shaped part (18). The outer wall (32) is terminated at a distance (34) from the uppermost part of the floor drain, and its free upper edge forms an overflow edge (36) for liquid flowing away from the outlet chamber (26) to the outlet (14 or 16) of the drain channel (10) via a liquid passage (38) in the drain channel (10) outside of the outlet chamber (26). The overflow edge (36) is arcuate with its ends ascending towards the uppermost edge of the drain channel (10). |
