PURPOSE: To obtain a low foaming wetting agent having resistance to alkalis by using a mixture of ethoxylates or ethoxylates/propoxylates and pure propoxylates of alcohols or phenols with a specific ratio. CONSTITUTION: This low foaming wetting agent is composed of 30-90 wt.% of at least one substance of formula I, II and/or III, and/or 70-10 wt.% of a substance of formula IV, and 0-30 wt.% of a substance of formula V. In the formulas, R<1> and R<2> are each a 4-20C alkyl or alkenyl or a 5-8C cycloalkyl, or a 6-12C aryl which may be substituted with a 1-12C alkyl, and a 7-10C aralkyl whose aromatic part may be substituted with a 1-4C alkyl. R<3> is a 12-22C alkyl or alkenyl or phenyl which is substituted with a 1-3C alkyl group and has a total of 6-12 carbon atoms. Further, EO denotes an ethylene oxide unit; PO denotes a propylene oxide unit; (m), (y) are each 1-30; (n), (o), (p), (q) are each 1-10; (s) is 15-50. |
