PURPOSE:To make an image forming device commonly usable for original reading and temp. detecting by reading the density information of a temp. detecting member and detecting the temp. in the device in a scanner section for original reading. CONSTITUTION:The densities of a sealing member 28 installed on the side opposite to a reading head 25 and having the densities changing with temp. are read at a specified time interval by a reading head 25 at the time of passing of recording paper along a scanner section. The densities (gradients) are converted, as temp. information, into electric signals. These electric signals are sent to a CPU 31 to be compared with the electric signal reference values corresponding to a set temp. (the permissible upper limit temp. of the device). The temp. rise value of the device is judged to be above the set value and an exhaust (cooling) fan motor driving circuit 47 is controlled by the CPU 31 so as to increase the number of revolutions of the exhaust (cooling) fan motor 48 when the electric signals sent to the CPU 31 are larger than the electric signal reference value. Further, the temp. of a fixing heater is controlled to lower the temp. in the device. |
