PURPOSE: To provide a stage assembly to transmit precise rectilinear motion to a movable base. CONSTITUTION: A precision positioning stage assembly is furnished with a movable base 12, a driving screw 14 having an axis in parallel with the moving direction of the stage 12 and a rectilinear guide rail 24 to support a driven element to be screwed with the driving screw 14 and one side of the stage 12. A driving member having a pair of opposed contact surfaces separated from each other by a specified distance is fixed on the stage 12. A torque member is fixed on the driven element, positioned between the contact surfaces and has a driving part to move the stage 12 along the guide rail. The driving part and the contact surface have shapes to materially provide point contact between them. |
