PURPOSE:To provide an occupant crash protection device which can make judgement of a collision, at least a collision configuration greatly affecting the occupant by means of a less-tuning program, and concurrently make the hardware of a collision judgement circuit common. CONSTITUTION:This occupant crash protection 1 is equipped with a sensor S outputting an acceleration signal, a collision judgement circuit 3 judging the degree of a collision, and with an occupant crash protection means 11 actuated based on the outputs of the sensor and the circuit. A memory means 7 which stors and holds tuning parameters corresponding to the kind of a car in such a way as to be freely read and written, and a communication interface 8 are connected to the collision judgment circuit, both individual tuning programs and a less tuning program judging the degree of a collision without using any parameter are built in the collision judgment circuit, and either one of the programs is to be executed.
