<p>PURPOSE:To prevent generation of a short circuit in a flow thereby to improve treatment effects by a method wherein water to be treated is introduced from a lower water-to-be-treated feed passage upwardly or downwardly, while water to be treated is introduced from an upper water-to-be-treated feed passage in a horizontal direction, both the passages being formed at the lower part of a biological reaction tank, so that both the waters intersect each other to effect agitation thereof, thereby generating a vortex. CONSTITUTION:Water to be treated is introduced into a lower part of a biological reaction tank 1 by means of a feed pump 10 via a water-to-be-treated feed passage 2, lower water-to-be-treated feed passage 2a, and upper water-to-be- treated feed passage 2b. The passage 2a causes the water to be treated to flow off downwardly from a downwardly disposed feed nozzle 5a. The water having flowed off turns round at the bottom of the tank 1 and flows upward. A feed nozzle 5b of the passage 2b is oriented horizontally so that the water flows off in a horizontal direction. As a result, both the waters intersect each other to effect agitation thereof, and hence a vortex is generated, so that contact efficiencies between the water to be treated and granule sludge will be improved.</p> |
