Protector for helmet in racing and sports cars

The protector (E) is fixed at two points (D) to the roll bar (A) of the vehicle. It is shaped to suit the driver's safety helmet (F). An array of small fillets (B) radiate across the inner surface of the protector from a rear outlet (C) forwards to the front. When the vehicle moves at speed, air (G) enters between the protector and the helmet and is guided by the fillets to the outlet. This forms an air cushion holding the helmet stably but not rigidly.
