The controller has a motor-driven positioning drive which adjusts the positions of the visual display (1), keyboard and/or mouse pad depending on at least one signal from a sensor (S) representing the seating position. The sensor contains an inclinometer, a sensor detecting the eyes' positional coordinates and/or at least one sensor mounted on the seating furniture or on the user. The positioning drive can displace the display, the keyboard and/or the mouse pad in the direction of at least one axis in the horizontal direction (A) and/or in the vertical direction (H). The drive can tilt the display about at least one horizontal axis.
