Illumination system for binocular operative microscope

The microscope (1) has a zoom-type adjustable enlargement system (2,2') for both inputs (4,4') to the eyes and a common lens (3) for the two. The illumination system (5) comprises a source (6), a condenser (7), and a lens (8), whose axis is at right angles to that (10) of the lens (3). The light ray is partly diverted by a first reflector (11) in the direction of the latter axis, and partly by a second one (12) onto a third one (13). The latter has two surfaces including an angle, forming two bundles of light rays (18,18'). Two divider plates (14) are mounted in front of the zoom inputs of the enlargement system, and reflect the bundles centrally into these inputs (4,4').
